The surface where work is planned, carried out and accounted for, with the evidence kept beside the change that produced it.

What it does

  • Plans read from where they live

    Work is planned from the task sources a product declares, so the plan in Studio and the plan in your tracker are one plan. Reading them is in place; editing them from Studio is still to come.

  • Loops with a ceiling

    A repeatable routine is laid out as a flight plan and reviewed before it runs, and every run is a bounded cycle with a limit it cannot pass.

  • Supervision, not autopilot

    Studio ranks what needs your attention, gives an agent only the authority you grant, and lets you stop any run. Work stops at ready for review and never pushes or merges on its own.

  • Review in one place

    Proposed changes are read, annotated, sent back with corrections or accepted in the same window as the work that produced them.

  • A record of every run

    Every run leaves a history that cannot be edited without it showing, and a run that was interrupted says plainly where it stopped rather than guessing.

  • Documents and structure

    Markdown, YAML and diagrams are edited in the same editor Folio uses, and a product's parts and repositories are laid out on a board you can change.

What it will not do

  • It does not decide whether work is ready. The engine decides, and Studio shows that answer rather than working out a second one.
  • It never pushes or merges. A run ends at ready for human review, by design.
  • It is not a Git client. It reads a repository's history to show it, and leaves changing it to you.
  • No plugins, no syncing, and no editing together in real time.

Where it stands

In development, and not yet released. There is nothing to download until a signed, notarised release that updates itself is ready.

It runs on macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. Windows, Linux and Intel Macs are not supported.

It is being built to supervise Codex and Claude. Until those supervised steps are proven, a run drives a program you configure yourself.
